Procurement is an art form. Collecting components for the assembly process in a timely fashion hinges upon strong relationships with distributors and suppliers, as well as a keen focus on the general availability and lead-time of in-demand parts. Lead-time, allocation, and end-of-life component factors seriously impact development schedules. It is imperative that parts selection in the design phase be closely coupled with projected availabilities, and that long-lead items are requisitioned as soon as it is known that they will be designed into the product. At eES we understand these interrelationships and manage the procurement process as a part of the design phase to insure that everything comes together as expected. We also offer independent procurement services for clients without buyers and for those who wish to free designers from this time consuming task.
